What is Shockwave?

Shockwave therapy uses targeted sound waves to help stimulate healing and reduce pain—without injections or surgery

What is dry needling?

When a muscle is overused, tight or spasmed, the muscle becomes so tight that there is limited oxygen to the center of the muscle.  We call this a trigger point.  Oxygen is needed in order to relax trigger points. This tight muscle can cause pain and discomfort as well as limit your movement and change how your joints function.  Dry needling is a technique where a physical therapist inserts thin needles into these trigger points.  This causes an electrical discharge of the nerve and relaxes the muscle.  When the muscle relaxes, this will allow an increase in the blood flow, and therefore oxygen.  This allows the muscle to not only relax, but stay relaxed.  This process can provide significant pain relief as well as restore normal flexibility and improve movement and function of your joints.

Can you treat vertigo?

Vertigo can be successfully treated 80% of the time in 1-2 visits of physical therapy!  Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (or vertigo for short) is very commen and usually presents with a "room spinning" sensation which comes on after changes in head position (getting into/out of bed, rolling over in bed, looking up, bending over).  There are other causes of dizziness which can also be treated with physical therapy.

Do you accept insurance?

Superior Physical Therapy is an out-of-network provider and requires payment at the time of service.  You may be able to be reimbursed if you have out-of-network benefits.  I chose to be out-of-network because after two decades working within the insurance system, I wanted to prioritize patient-centered care. You and I, together, determine the most effective treatment plan, unrestricted by insurance limitations.  This allows me to use my expertise to create a personalized approach that gets you the results you deserve, often in fewer total visits compared to the traditional model.

Can I get reimbursed by insurance if you are out-of-network?

This depends on your insurance.  You can check with your insurance to find out if they cover out-of-network providers and to what extent if they do.  If you have out-of-network coverage, I can provide you with an invoice which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.  Your insurance may also require a referral to physical therapy.  The state of Minnesota allows physical therapists to treat patients for 90 days without a physician referral, however your insurance may require the referral.

Note that if you have Medicare (even if you have a secondary insurance, have a Medicare Advantage or Medicare Replacement plan) you CANNOT submit physical therapy bills for reimbursement as I am not enrolled with Medicare.

Can I use my HSA, HRA or FSA to pay for Physical Therapy?

Yes!  You are able to use your HSA, HRA or FSA as long as the service is a qualified medical expense.  Examples of qualified medical expenses include physical therapy treatment for pain, dizziness, or injury that is affecting you in your daily life.  You cannot use them if the service is not medically necessary such as for fitness or wellness services.

Do you take Motor Vehicle Insurance?

Yes! To use motor vehicle insurance you will pay for therapy at the time of service and then submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
