Discover how services such as Shockwave, BFR and Dry Needling can help you get pain free today.
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy is a hands-on approach to restoring mobility, reducing pain, and improving tissue function. Techniques may include joint mobilizations, soft tissue release, muscle energy techniques, and myofascial release work. By addressing restrictions in joints and muscles, manual therapy helps restore natural movement patterns and supports long-term recovery.
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
IASTM involves the use of ergonomically designed tools to detect and treat areas of soft tissue dysfunction. By applying targeted pressure and movement, we help break down scar tissue, improve fascial mobility, and stimulate the body’s natural healing response. This technique is particularly beneficial for chronic tendon issues, post-operative stiffness, and repetitive strain injuries.
Dry Needling
Dry needling uses thin, sterile needles inserted into myofascial trigger points to release muscle tension, restore blood flow, and reduce pain. It is commonly used for chronic headaches, neck and back pain, shoulder and hip pain, elbow tendonitis, calf strains, and plantar fasciitis. Keely brings over 10 years of advanced dry needling experience to each session, with consistently strong outcomes for patients who have not found relief elsewhere.
Blood Flow Restriction Training
Blood flow restriction training uses specialized cuffs to partially limit blood flow to the limbs during low-load exercise, producing the strength and muscle gains of heavy lifting without the associated joint stress. It is particularly effective for patients recovering from surgery, managing pain-limited conditions, or working toward performance goals that standard loading cannot safely support. Superior Physical Therapy is equipped to apply BFR to both limbs simultaneously.
Shockwave Therapy
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted sound waves to stimulate healing in injured or chronically painful tissues. At Superior Physical Therapy, we use an electromagnetic shockwave device to deliver focused energy to the affected area, helping improve blood flow, reduce pain, and restart the healing process in stubborn, non-healing tissues.
This treatment is especially helpful for chronic tendon injuries, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis elbow, and other persistent musculoskeletal conditions. Research shows that shockwave therapy can significantly reduce or eliminate pain in approximately 60–80% of cases, depending on the condition. Shockwave therapy is often combined with physical therapy to help improve recovery and long-term results.
Vestibular Rehabilitation
Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialized form of physical therapy designed to address dizziness, vertigo, and balance impairment caused by dysfunction in the inner ear or vestibular system. Treatment involves guided exercises and repositioning techniques, including the Epley maneuver for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), aimed at reducing symptoms and restoring normal balance function. Most cases can be addressed in one to two visits.
Individualized Exercise Prescription
Exercise prescription at Superior Physical Therapy is built around each patient's specific injury history, activity level, functional goals, and response to treatment. Every program has a clear clinical purpose, whether supporting recovery from injury, preparing for a return to sport, or building long-term resilience. Exercise education is integrated throughout care rather than delivered as a generic home program, including the pilates reformer.
